As I said, not sure how I did on that trade - but it seems crazy to me that you wouldn't be interested in going from literally the worst goalie in the league last year to a pretty consistent top 5 goalie in the league? What is Mateychuk's projection? I see a 2nd pair defenseman with high offensive upside - a fair price for an elite NHL goaltender no? With Provorov and Werenski is he even needed in CBJ more than goaltending?

Jets could add in Heinola and/or Stanley potentially I'd think.

Teams retaining that much for that long is almost unheard of. In the (unlikely) instance that CBJ made a move for a goalie and dumped Elvis, I could stomach like 1 mil of retention, but with 4 years left holding almost 3 mil is probably worse than just holding onto him.

I'm not opposed to exploring a deal for Hellebuyck, but I do have some concerns about ponying up the deal he supposedly wants. It's not a 1 to 1 obviously, but there's some serious correlation between Bob going to Florida and Hellebuyck potentially signing a hige deal with a new team. It is something that could get ugly for the new team a bit down the line.
