Description
SYNOPSIS

I'm kinda seeing Stevie Y's game plan here (I think). He added some potentially good players to the roster, but besides Compher and Holl (GOD I hope he's right about that one!!!), they're all on one year deals. They play well or else they're TDL Bait.

I decided to follow his (I think) plan...

CHI gives up picks, which most rebuilding teams don't wanna do, but they look like they want to arm Bedard with a competitive team. They get a good goalie, a good Dman and a large former 1st rounder...all cost controlled.

I always loved Perron, even more so with the Oil. As a Wings an avid Wings fan with some Copper and Gold in his veins, it's a biased trade. I think he could help them ALOT!
Murray/Nylander is a Toronto cap dump as TO are already WAY over the cap. Easy buyout for Murray. Adding Murray means Nylander comes cheaper than DeBrincat, who we can get for free next year if Nylander is too pricey or bolts.

Helly and Scheifele are gambles if neither (especially Helly) resign, but again...one year deals. Think TDL.

If things work, it's one helluva good team. If not, LOTS of picks coming back at the Deadline! Lol!

No from Winnipeg. Not enough for both Jets and you can't make picks conditional on resigning anymore.

Perron dealt at the TDL, his teaching is invaluable to the young guys. I do think EDM is a nice fit for him to make a run though.

Husso is the starter until Cossa is ready unless someone surprises.

Rasmussen has improved every year and is going to be an integral part of the depth when Detroit is competitive. Cost efficient, strength, plug and play middle 6/ top 9.

Walman was just extended. Teams don't extend players to trade them. Of the LHD that could move, he would probably follow behind Chiarot, Maata, and a handful of prospects.

Cossa was just drafted... and SY traded up to draft him. To move him for a potential one year goaltender (or overpaid aging goaltender if he extends) is counter-productive.

Kubalik is going to be a gun for hire at the TDL, and Zadina is probably heading to waivers.

Moving draft picks for rentals in hopes of recouping worst draft picks seems like one step forward and two steps back.

Moving draft picks for rentals while providing teams with weaker prospect pools better capital is counter productive.

Hawks decline. The value is probably fair, but those are not players a rebuilding Hawks team would target. They've made more than enough moves to "surround Bedard" for this season.
