I'll answer for Leafs fans: he's either going on LTIR, or bought out. Option 1: extra cap if the team is even close to the ceiling. Option 2: $687,500 this year and $2,000,000 next. That doesn't cost a 1st, it might not even cost a 3rd.

I'd also argue that when you factor in his significantly lower cap hit + centers being more valuable than wingers, that Lindholm for Nylander might be an overpay for the Flames, even with the extra moving parts here.

-Anaheim is still rebuilding - why are they giving up any sort of draft pick for two players that have not shown any ability to stay healthy? This is a cap dump trade, and Nick Robertson has definitely lost a lot of value at this point, so there has to be a 1st rounder coming with them if you expect Anaheim to send back a 3rd.
