Gonna have to up that 2nd to a 1st. Hawks have said they're done taking on cap dumps unless teams are willing to pay a premium.

The premium is the 2nd

Don't think he's worth a 1st to dump, he's a net positive against Chicago's existing bottom 6 and the cap space is negligible when they have 17M to spare

The buyout would also only be 6M over four years if Chicago wants to go that road, which in my opinion = a 2nd, not a 1st

Also they can in theory flip him for even more value

On point. Don't understand where the "every cap dump is now going to cost a first" is coming from...Most GMs gladly take a second.

It cost NYI a 2nd to dump Bailey and his buyout. Granlund is twice that. So a 2nd doesn't cut it. And the Hawks don't need another goalie.
