This is a bit controversial I know. Drury has a high defensive ceiling, and while his offensive potential isn’t the greatest, his offensive game will likely blossom in a bit more offensive minded system. Bit of a gamble, but Drury very likely develops into anywhere from a Glendening to a Jordan Staal, excellent defensive metrics with decent enough offensive metrics. Fair value for Drury is about a 2nd right now, but teams are overpaying for high upside players. Newhook got a 1st and 2nd, so who knows.

Pretty much to the highest bidder

Arizona brings in some help for their blue line for cheaper than the Canes would probably like. Will likely recoup assets at deadline as well.

Arizona wants to be a bit more competitive this year, and bringing in a veteran dman who can log heavy minutes will help with that goal. Arizona agrees to flip Skjei to a contender at or before the deadline if Skjei is willing to accept a trade there.
