I just had a nice discussion with your esteemed colleague @BCAPP about this formulation. I think that this is the solution which Treliving had in mind. Gambrell or McMann -- whoever you prefer and/or whoever clears waivers -- takes the 11th slot and you can cycle Marlie ELCs like Holmberg or Robertson in and out of #12. And I think that Anaheim, with their weakness at RW, would be interested in Jarnkrok even though that's not his customary side,

Thanks for the comment
Jarnkrok can actually play all 3 forward positions, can PK and scored 20 goals last year. A great utility forward and can play anywhere up and down the lineup at a moderate $2.1M for 3 more years and at a cost of only a 3rd round pick. You're right, seems like a good match. Toronto's cap woes helps the Ducks

1) lol for calling me esteemed

2) my issue with your comment in the other thread wasn't to suggest this isn't the best solution. It unfortunately may be. My issue was (if I recall correctly) you stated that treliving has always had a plan and this was it. If this was his plan from minute one, and he chose to put himself in this whole by signing the four he did and to have this as the only solution, then he is an idiot.

I'm not entirely certain I agree that it's a good fit. For one, his addition pushes someone off the main 12 to the bench. Which would be one of Silfverberg, McGinn, or Jones. I'm fine with the first two, but I want to see Jones continue to get time with Lundestrom to see what happens, and I don't think we're benching the other two.

Maybe he plays 4C this season instead of BOG until a wing spot opens up, but then BOG has to pass through waivers.

I see him as a cheaper downgrade to Henrique, as I suspect his 20 goal season had a lot to do with playing on the leafs. Sure, for a bottom 9 utility knife he's a fine player on a fine contract, but it's taking away another roster spot for a while.
