The only way to offer sheet Lafrenière and to really squeeze the Rangers is to make him sign a contract above $6m, whereby sending Woodrow to another team is not enough.

A $6m OS would cost MTL a 1st and a 3rd. Not sure MTL would give up a first in a year where they might finish in the bottom 10. And there is the retaliation risk -- NYR could offer sheet Guhle or Slafvoksky for example.

The best approach to bring Laffy to Montreal is by offering a package NYR couldn't refuse under the current circumstances.

SEA declines. Not interested in trading a strong wing prospect for an aging goalie, who will be likely religated to backup minutes, and a pick that they can't replace the prospect that is being given up
