-RNH isn't being traded. The love him in EDM and he took a discount to stay there

-Miller is due $8 million till he's 37yr old. He plays a heavier hitting game and its going to take a toll on his body quickly.

-Scheifele just isn't a guy I want anywhere near the Bruins. Poor in the dot, doesn't play defense and is part of the leadership problem in WPG.

-Lindholm is the only name that makes sense for Boston and it now sounds like he's open to staying with CGY. He also wants around $9 million a season on his next deal.

I feel like Scheifele gets bad rep unnecessarily alot nowadays, I mean he's a real offensive dynamo with an excellent shot.
His defensive game is fairly bad, maybe that can change though because it has been better in the past.
But to be blunt, a good shutdown game isn't really his role. And he actually is blocking some shots and he's far from a giveaway machine.
When it comes to locker room issues, I don't really give that too much credit.

Btw, if Lindholm plays like the 21/22 season, he's definitely worth 9 million per.

Unlikely to be available and established as high end prior to that. Kind of a unicorn to be able to acquire a borderline 1c or better in their true prime.

Traditionnally, it cost a good prospect + high draft pick (1st and 2nd round picks) to get these kind of player that you listed (You can also argue that they could be on the decline, like Sagecoll said).

Alas, BOS doesnt really have any of these 2 things:

- Their prospect pool is really shallow. Apart from Lysell and a small handful of other guys, there's not much value there. But that's to be expected when you had a long Stanley Cup window like BOS had.
- With only 5 picks in the first 3 round for the next (None in 2024), there is not much there too. The question that BOS management have to ask themselves is: "Do we wanna trade our 2025 1st round pick, and chase a rapidly-closing SC window, or garnish our prospect pool a bit so that, when we enter a rebuild phase, it'll be less rough?"

Realistically, I think BOS have to give one of their high-value player to receive one of these guys (Maybe Carlo? Maybe DeBrusk? Maybe Ullmark?)

One way or another, BOS futures doesn't look all that good for the next few years.
