LA doesn’t neeed another RD with Doughty, Clarke, Spence, and Roy (If extended).

Even if it's just mid rd picks you're suggesting for return in the cases of BOS and LA I still think that's too rich of an ask for Savard and Allen at this point in time, to say nothing of in one year from now.

Value going to the Devils for Schmid is probably there but the assets do not fit at all.
I really like Harris but all the spots in the Devils D corps is spoken for in the foreseeable future:
Siegenthaler - Hamilton
Hughes - Marino
Bahl - Nemec
...with more than a few interesting D prospects still in the Devils system (Casey, Vilén etc).
Kidney is an alright prospect with a chance at an NHL career but doesn't really do anything for the Devils.
As such it doesn't make one bit of sense to trade Schmid here given that there's a real chance that he finishes the 23-24 as the Devils clear #1 goaltender going forward.

Echoing my esteemed colleague @Hockeyman_2627, by the 2024-2025 season the right side should be set with Drew Doughty, Brandt Clarke and Jordan Spence even if Matt Roy decides not to re-up with the Kings, so I can't see Los Angeles trading for Savard. But it's a year from now, so who knows?
