Chicago needs a #2 C? Really?

Ok I have seen some posts that are saying Chicago needs a #2 C. I don't know about this but I have a solution before I go to bed.

Give it a couple of months and if there is a problem, hire the UFA solution at league min, with bonuses for games played. He is a face off machine and would be great for teaching that skill! The room will already be established, and he will be coming in pretty late (think just before the cut off, so he can be traded to a contender) keep doing this till he decides to retire.

My question is why didn't they grab 1 or 2 RD off waivers and put Zaitsev on wavers?

Just to add, Hawks have lots of expiring UFAs contract. Lots of cap next season....,that might be time to start getting some quality long term good UFAs (and hopefully draft some too)
