I guess that would work but I still think Manson needs to go regardless; he's making too much to play bottom pair minutes, gets hurt a lot and is slowing down. If Landy can't come back, I'd rather see them trade Manson to free up space to sign a better option to replace Landy, someone that really can play top 6 minutes for a contender and produce.

I doubt they pay assets to move Manson unless they are forced to by Landeskog returning.

I'd actually also expect them to be very cautious with handing out a contract to a replacement for Landeskog in 2024 (if he's ruled out) as they have Byram, Georgiev, Rantanen, and O'Connor to re-sign in 2025. It's probably more likely that they take the approach they did with Kuemper or Saad and fill the top 6 role with a one year rental rather than signing an UFA like I've done above, at least until there's clarity on the aforementioned contracts that will need to get done in 2025.

I mean yeah, not thrilled about the process of giving another winger a longer term deal especially knowing Makar, Rantanen and a 2C would have to be re-signed during that time and a decision would have to be made on Lehkonen. God wouldn’t it be wonderful if a young guy like Olausson started playing like a 1st rounder?

He's looking like he might progress that way honestly - he's only 20, so he's still filling in, for sure.

That makes sense. They'd definitely be wise to get Rants and Bo done next offseason; they'll save money and headaches. If Manson can stay relatively healthy this season (which is a big "if") I don't think they'll have to pay to move him.
