Would be surprised if they did a sign and trade mid-season. More likely a trade…then extension.

Romanov is one of the Islanders better defenseman, and he's young. Attaching Wahlstrom and a 1st rounder on top of giving him 8m per would set them back.

Yegors looking like a better gamble all the time. Moving Zadorov before Kylington started skating was smart.

The return wasn't great but it would have been worse if everyone knew we needed the cap space.

Regarding the trades, I don't think the Islanders can subtract Romanov and get much better defensively.

The Tanev trade sounds good to me, I like big Bahls.
