Jackets want no part of Anderson contract. There’s a reason they didn’t give it to him in the first place

What about the 2 second round picks?

Welp, Columbus traded Domi for him, expecting Domi to be better. But I understand that he was well liked over there.

Columbus is still in a rebuild and will actually save cap by trading Laine's 8.7M$ contract - habs would even be ready to retain 1.5M for 3 years.

In any case, we can keep Anderson, we have the cap for it... it's just a question to move that guy... it is clearly not working in MTL and I feel bad for him.

The problem is that Andersons contract is longer and he’s a much worse player than laine. I wouldn’t trade laine for 2 seconds right now without Anderson. I’d rather keep laine and hope he can stay healthy. If not they can ride out his contract. By the time his contract is up they should be playoff contenders.
