If the Sabres sign Roy, i don’t see any reason they’d move Cozens for another RD

Can't imagine they'd move Cozens in any capacity. Mittelstadt is 1000x more likely. That Philly deal is awful. You can pick up someone like Cates way cheaper

Firstly Byram is a LHD who isn't great on the right, so there's little logic at all to this move unless Dahlin or Power is better on the right. Secondly with Cozens extension I don't think the Avs could afford to do it without significant other moves.

I can see why Mitts might end up getting a contract in that area but for me that's a bit too high. I think he'll end up in the $5.5-6M area. Love his versatility, his 200' game and his doggedness on the puck as well as his versatility, but I can't see him approaching Tage and Cozens yet.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens with him when you have Benson joining JJ and Quinn as upper-line youngins to go along with vets Tage, Skinner, Tuch and Cozens with Kulich pounding on the door. As many have speculated Mitts could very well be a nice trade piece if they go after a legit top-4 d-man but if you could slide him in at a $5.5M AAV, I'm all for it.

Cates should've been a selke finalist last year at 23 years old.
