The value is there for Columbus, but it doesn't fit our needs. We're a young team with tons of RD specifically, tons of bottom-6 forwards, and a near-vacuum of leadership and veterans. It doesn't make sense to trade one of the few leaders and a great locker room guy (Gudbranson) for yet another RD (even in a swap) and another bottom-6 forward.

We need skill and higher-end talent. A Columbus trade for any reason is probably a hockey trade of NHL players, or shipping out depth for a better quality piece.

I don’t mind Kampf, but 3 more years after this one at $2.4m is just too much. Pass.

Although Gudbranson is a bit of a pylon and can be frustrating at times, he does have an important role on this team and we dont really have anyone else to fill that role of not only being a leader in the locker room, but also being that big body presence in the defensive lineup. I just dont see our FO being willing to move on from him yet.
