Description
So im curious how Kracken fans feel here. I think moving on from skinner is good for sabres and he's a nice addition to seattle as most of the team plays solid structured hockey so he should add offense more than cost defense.
Power is still a solid prospect but if he plays like he's cliftons size instead of like clifton plays he might as well find a new team. Seattles trained up thier dmen and maybe is ready to move on from vets and have the team move forward with some youth. Skinner only has a few years left anyway and they should be able to call up a nice elc option. Power could turn into a very regretable loss as thier number 1 guy and the guys we got will all be gone in 3 years unless some resign XfingersX (larsson)

That's a pile of 'meh' coming back for a 20 yr old d-man with a ton of upside and the Sabres leading goal scorer.

Besides,Skinner ain't going anywhere, he has a NMC and seems intent on staying in Buffalo close to his Toronto roots.

Yeah this trade could turn out to be horrendous real quick for the Sabers, feels like an extreme panic move in hopes to get a WC2 spot

Power is a top pairing d-man, Skinner though overpaid is still a 55-65 point guy with 30 goal upside. He's gonna be that for the next 2-4 years

The package coming back is not very good, Gourde and Larsson are essentially locks to leave after their contracts run up and even if they don't your going to be paying top dollar, long-term contracts to guys on the wrong side of 30. Just not a good situation for the Sabers to be in, Okelsiak is ok I guess? I don't know I don't know much about him but he's probably the worst player in the deal and is worth around a 2nd. That leaves just McCann who is a 55-70 point 2C but not nearly worth enough for Power, the Sabers also already have like 4-5 of those guys in Mittelstadt, Kulich, Peterka, Cozens (who is probably 65-80 point guy) and Savoie.

Bad move for the Sabers imo.

I expected more from an oilers fan

I expected atleast an oilers fan would understand points don't = a good player and that you need more than goals to win games. How'd all those 1st rounders work out for you? I believe you're all to familar with trading top picks for a guy who will just play freakin defense.
Mind explaning which game you were watching were power played like he should be depended on to hold a 1 goal lead...yah know being such a great dman? He's not a top pairing dman. He wouldnt even be in the nhl if it wasnt for his draft status. Very well may be a top pair guy in the future but right now he struggles hard and makes really dumb plays. Until he realizes that potential (which he wont on this garbage sabres team imo ) hes more of a problem then a benefit.
After wasting 3 years developing the youngest team in the league into a "all star" team Kevin Adams is going to have to trade some good peices for basic role players because we don't have anyone close to jared mccan in this system. Maybe peterka or kulich but im sure we'll teach then to avoid finishing checks and coast to the bench on line changes like the rest of the organization.
Your not wrong, this could look bad in a few years but i have to assume the reason kevin adams paid clifton is because a 6th dman is the best he could get to come play with this team.
Like you said everyone of the players im trading for will probably walk...why? Because i trade power or because this organization is a train wreck that destroys talent?
