Nevertheless, with Jiricek absolutely not being available, the Sabres could explore other options before the deadline passes.

The Sabres' priorities:
* Top forward that can score 20 or more goals on a second or third line
* Top four defenseman that plays a defensive/shutdown game

I doubt the Sabres need Jenner and Jiricek. The Sabres could kick the tires on Peeke.
