Barron Kovacevic and a 3rd isnt even enough to dump gallagher if he had 1 year left, nevermind 4 years + acquire Hronek

If money was too much of an issue for Van, something around Barron + the Jets first would be a solid base. Too late for Gally at this point in his career.

He did this likely cause it was one of the few VAN players not pending UFA's or are too valuable to move
I mean outside players i'd consider equally overpaid as Gallagher , who else you got to take back from MTL POV ?

Besides Gally to EDM in a deal for Campbell makes more sense.
Send him home and MTL can just buyout Campbell
Its far more likely Gally retires on LTIR giving EDM Cap space then it is Campbell do the same.
Just seems like an easier deal to make

This is fun. Right back to dreaming about players that aren't going to move. Kind of like Pettersson. Hronek is one of the top RD in the league (if you put any faith in stats). Brendan Gallagher will NOT be part of the trade package for him therefore. Canucks paid a First and a second for him. That will be the starting price. And if he did move, it would be a discussion with lots of other teams too. So just for fun, heres what a trade for him would look like:

1. Elite prospect
2. Good young NHL player
3. Draft Pick

So: Reinbacher + Dach + 2nd Still Interested?
