Description
Some tomfoolery included in the conditions, but the strategy is essentially to provide flexibility for the hawks and protection for the teams sending firsts. Ideally we would have 2 1sts in 24, 3 firsts in 25, and 2 firsts in 2026.

Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Lee, Anders
  2. 2025 1st round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
2025 1st round pick is top 10 protected in 2025 and 2026. If the pick slides to a 2027 first round pick Chicago also receives a 3rd rounder in 27 or 28 islanders choice.
NYI
  1. Phillips, Isaak [RFA Rights]
  2. Raddysh, Taylor [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Hawks take on 2 years at 7 million to get a first round pick. In the case that the pick slides to 26 or 27, hawks would have a valuable piece to accelerate the rebuild.
2.
CHI
  1. Goodrow, Barclay ($641,667 retained)
  2. 2025 1st round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Chicago is entitled to either a 2025 or 2026 choice at their discussion unless these picks are within the top 10 of the draft.

Ex: If NYR pick is not top 10 in 2025, Chicago can take that or choose to have a top 10 protected pick in 26. If the pick is top ten in 26, then a 27 unprotected first.
NYR
  1. 2025 4th round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
The 4th round pick transfers to NYR if the pick is in 2025. If not, no pick is sent.

LOL. You want retention plus a 1st round pick for Goodrow. Rangers say pound sand with your absurd offer.

Referencing this trade.

Retention doesn’t make or break the trade, but in my opinion a first is absolutely a fair ask to eat 3 years of that contract.

That’s fun and all but they will buy him out before paying that cost. Either a team wants him and he’s willing to go or it’s a buyout.. not a dump

Your opinion, which means nada to the Rangers. His contract is an easy buy out if Drury wants cap space so there is ZERO chance they give up a 1st round pick to trade him. ZERO.

You underestimate the value of flexibility, 6 year buyout at this structure is somewhat limiting especially in the year his cap hit is ~3.5.

Also, I hate to break it to you, but neither your opinion nor mine makes a difference to any executive at the NHL level. Judging by your aggressive style of replying I think you are missing the point of posting on this forum, or at least deriving some sort of pleasure from attempting to put others down. In any case, you are now added to the ignore list not because you shared an opinion on the post, but because you seem like a generally unpleasant person.
