Mercer is probably the "easiest" to get since Holtz is finally breaking out, if you can offer a sufficient value of cost controlled depth pieces, NJ has a fair chunk of theirs stripped by the Foote and McLeod arrests.

Necas I guess would be next, Carolina might be hard pressed to afford him and Guentzel, but there will be several bidders.

Lundell seems too critical to Florida's system, I think they'll look to cut costs elsewhere to keep Lundell around.

And as we've discussed ad nauseum, it doesn't make sense for the Ducks to trade Zegras when they are looking to turn the corner next season.

Agreed Zegras isn’t going anywhere. What do you mean when you say Holtz is breaking out. He has 28 points on the year, with 2 in his last 10

NJ fans were bragging up and down that he was leading the team in 5v5 scoring this season.

At even strength I’m seeing Holtz tied for 8th among devils in scoring. Mercer is actually ahead of him.

He’s also 24th(!) among devils in GF/60, and 19th in GA/60 at even strength.

Granted he’s gotten pretty poor ice time, but I’m not seeing much statistical cause for giving him more minutes

I’ll be the first to admit that I was super hot on us acquiring Holtz (and I still am in a way). But my interest has definitely shifted from more of a sleeper pickup to that of a reclamation type project. That might be overstating it for his age, but you know what I mean
