Oh, the Blues aren't touching that contract. And 6x3.5 isn't a depth piece. Besides, the Blues don't need depth, they need a real 1LD to push everyone else down the depth chart (and for certain players to stop giving the puck away cheaply in terrible places).

I would normally be all for the Sharks taking on contracts for old guys, but that Engvall deal really is something.

Take out Engvall and San Jose does it. Nobody wants $3 mil for that long on their books

Yeah, Blues aren't taking on the Mayfield contract AND pay for him. It could be an option to swap him for Krug as in a bad for bad contract (Krug the more expensive but shorter contract, Mayfield the 'less expensive' but longer contract), however even then I think the Blues would probably not do it as, how weird it might sound, I think Krug is easier to move and it would also mean we would have to be able to move Faulk in a seperate deal.
