Description
Its an interesting Idea:

Minn needs more scoring and could really use Kane but don't have the picks to do it. Islanders need a top D man but don't have the NHL ready help most teams with a good D need. This three way trade solves NYI D problem and MINN Scoring problem and BUF gets 1 NHL ready player (as i understand it they see themselves as not rebuilding anymore and not looking for prospects unless they are top prospects) and some futures. Islanders also get lehner for their Goal tending woes.

no way from buffalo. going to need a top prospect and alot more for kane and lehner both

I would rather the Sabres just send Kane to Minnesota straight for Dumba and a 3rd

This is basically:
Brock Nelson + 1st =
Dumba + 3rd =
Kane

It's not terrible value wise, though Nelson is definitely the lowest value there, and the 1st doesn't cover the gap.
I think the teams and players involved are all wrong anyway. All three teams want/need Dumba, and I don't think Nelson works for either MIN or BUF (no more than any other middle 6er anyway).
I'd say aim lower for a Nelson trade.

Goalie portion probably works for both parties if Buffalo is prepared to move on from Lehner, but I'd look elsewhere if I were NYI.

Kane is on an expiring contract and most certainly looking to max out in UFA. no team trading for him will be able to sign him as he is 100 percent hitting the market. his price is pretty stable at a 1st for a 2 month rental. Lehner was given a bridge deal deal last season for one year. this is his last year as an RFA. if prospects is what BUF wants, then nelson is out of the trade, but my understanding Botterill is building a team to compete not building a farm system. we can take nelson out and put in Pulock and a non conditional 4th. Pulock is a right handed 15th overall heavy shot PP QB defenseman with RFA status for another 3 or 4 years I believe. anything more than that is fantastical
