Acquire draft picks for guys who are not apart of the future plan and current youth movement. Big questions at goalie, but no way to know yet what the future holds there. Regardless, this team isn't a legitimate contender without Crawford so they might as well trade some assets, and give plenty of ice-time to Forsling, Forsberg, Hayden, Sikura, Kampf, etc. down the stretch.
These moves allow for a re-tool, not a re-build, this off-season. While Hartman, Duclair, Hino, Rutta, and Hayden will likely all receive new contracts this summer, none of which should be over 2 M. If the cap reaches 80 M as suspected, the Hawks will have a lot of flexibility to dive into a strong free agent class (especially if Hossa retires, without penalty, or remains on LTIR).
I believe if Anisimov is traded, the Hawks would seek a young, cost controlled roster player with a mid round draft pick, however I'm not gong to speculate as to who would give that up or who's available. For simplicity sake, these draft picks seemed fair.
The future of this team will rely on what they do in net, but Crawford's current situation is much bigger than hockey, wishing him the best. Either way, Stan will likely have a decision to make this off-season about the Hawks future in goal.
Q seems very resistant to ever give Kempny consistent ice time, signs pointing to him not being re-signed at end of year. Could be a very effective bottom pairing/depth defenseman for contending team IMO
Caps say hell yes, or at least better say hell yes.
I'd honestly be talking with WAS about what they'd give the Hawks for taking on Orpik too. Could allow them to make another trade @ the TDL and could be worth something for dropping that cap hit.
Quoting: Pensfan89
Pens take that deal everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
Yeah PIT would definitely do this. I'd be hoping to get more as a Hawks fan. AA's on a good contract and plays a 200 foot game.

Yeah, it would probably be a slightly better return for Art. I'm not as in tune with PIT's roster and the young player(s) they'd be willing to give up. If it was only draft picks, maybe 2 seconds then (similar to Shaw trade). My only thought is does being 29 (with a slight injury history) and 4 more years at 4.5 M hinder that return? Not sure.
As for WSH, I don't mind the idea of being on the other end of a "Bickell + Teuvo trade", however with Orpik under contract through next season, sending out a D with both Seabrook and Orpik next year would terrify me.
