Description
SJS matches requirements for the 2nd round pick from the Kane trade to become a 1st.

------------------------------

Islanders get a goalie, and 3 younger, team controlled assets in exchange for Anders Lee, Brock Nelson (who seems to be moved in every NYI mock I see), and their backup goalie. This is the value I'm really not sure on, since Lee is on an expiring contract but he's also scored 34 and 40 goals the last two seasons.

-----------------------------

Montreal forfeits the 3rd overall pick in exchange for a 1/2 center, and a young, team controlled winger that could excel in a different system. Also getting back the 32nd overall pick, the first of the 2nd round.

----------------------------

With the cap going up (projected between 78-82 million), no need to buy out any bad contracts this year. Moulson and Pominville come off the books at the end of this year, then Scandella and Bogosian next year.

I really don't think ROR is worth that much. Montreal has the chance to take literally one of the best players in the draft. I don't think theyre willing to give that up unless its a deal they cant refuse

Thank you so much for taking the time to publish a team.

A few thoughts on your team:

1. The NYI deal is interesting but I think it needs to be tweaked;

2. Do you really want to move a young Dman that plays the way Housley wants his D to play in McCabe. He was injured for most of the year (or played injured) and he is still under team control.

3. I think Pu is the wrong prospect to move it should be Seth Griffith (as he seems to be blocked with the glut of RW on the team or in the system) or look at Cormel or Fasching;

4. Greiss does not work at all. He is 32yo and on the books at $3.3 Million a year for the next two years. The Sabres can do much better with signing a Ward, Bernier for that type of money;

5. I am not an Anders Lee fan but that is just me. I really would like to stay away from players that have expiring contracts in one year. Though his ability to play C & LW is appealing;

6. The Montreal deal you will need to give up more than just ROR if you want that #3 pick. I think your better option is looking to deal with Carolina for the #2 pick. The Carolina team is at a point where they can look to win now compared to Montreal;

Not too shabby

Idk about that Isles trade though?
Don’t see them giving up Lee, but i do think Nelson is likely acquirable

And if Montreal will do that trade, then hell yes
Idk that they would
In order, Svechnikov then Zadina, and then Tkachuk with that 3rd pick
