Stop this. First Arizona isn't paying out of pocket 10.6m for Hrotn Sure Nylander takes that one year deal. But he no motivation to resign and the Leafs would have to pay him over 12m just to retain his rights.
Nylander thanks the Leafs for 11m and then his UFA status next summer.

This whole 1 year then resign mid season for 8 has got to stop. It's idiotic and not going to happen.

Obviously this will never happen. You have two options bridge (if he will accept under 5mil) or sign him on long term...probably at 6mil. I don’t think the pending Matthews Marner deals are going to be as big as everyone is projecting.... unless of course they put up insane numbers this year.
