Well players have to be willing to sign the contracts also. Nylander might sign a three year deal but it would for more money. Matthews wouldn't sign for five years for so cheap. He could easily get offered sheets up to 10.1m for. five years and its only 2 first, a second and a third. But the Leafs and him might settle on a five year deal.
Thought it is strange that so many think so many Leaf players coming off their ELC are worth so much...I wonder if all ELCs are going to get the same almost precedent setting amounts.
