That is a pretty heavy price to pay for a rental and a guy with one year left on his deal. Will leave you with alot of guys to sign in the offseason with not much money. And this trade does not guarantee a cup.

"I had to try again." Is this really trying? Leafs certainly don't need a LHD, especially one that is playing poorly. Last year the two premier TDL deals were Kane for 2nd and 4th, and Stastny for 1st and 4th. All that for Methot? Leafs might be the only team in that can trade for NTC Pietrangelo. I know it's subjective but sure looks the Leafs are paying a premier price.
