difficult to believe that list given is the next tier below the nhl. they seem to be next tier below the ahl, shl and khl.

Does it include young players that have been signed already? If so Carter Hart. If not Michael Hutchison or someone in Europe.

The idea was to find active players not tied to NHL clubs by contract or rights.

Shestyorkin, Sorokin, Samsonov. all drafted by NHL teams but KHL pros for a few years.

apart from that, Koskinen etc are all better than Hiller and Enroth

I've read that but I think you should make a special case for KHL/russian goaltenders as they usually build a career independent of the NHL and might not even come over at all.
