I thought about the Ritchie deal more... I'd rather 2 picks for Ritchie

so a 3rd + whatever you feel is equivalent to your prospects (like in and around a 4th-5th) for Ritchie... Picks in 2019 would be better for me

Okay, I think I have a plan.
If Desharnais clears, him and Pavalec for Froese and a 5th (2019) work for you?
That way I still have a backup in the minors, since I'm not sure Froese would clear. You'd still be getting the pick and losing a contract, then you can try to put Froese through waivers if you want to risk losing him or free up a spot.
