How does this move benefit Pittsburgh at all? They're looking to win now. They're not looking to build a team for 5 years down the road. They're not trading any core pieces for unproven assets or draft picks. Letting is still a #1 Defenseman and he's not going anywhere.

Why not? Give your opponent a guy that you may never have to play against due to injury and eats a chunk of their cap that prevents then from adding another quality player. wink

But they can't change the way the Flames play with a trade. The Flames' 1st may be more valuable, and Pulock has tons of potential. Chimera could be moved, and they need to keep that top line together for now IMO.

From an Islanders stand point, I wouldn't go near Letang. I'm not saying he isn't good, but the risk of injury is through the roof. The valuing of players here is way off as well.
