We probably wouldn’t pay that for Byron, I like the idea of having a scoring winger close to as fast as McDavid that can play up and down the line up.. but in the end, he’s small, left handed and apparently, not cheap enough, so it’s a pass. Could probably use that 2nd as an add for better assets on the market.

Don't think Pittsburgh can afford to take on Shaw's contract unless they send back Hunwick or Hagelin or someone similar.

I like it but i think you might only get a second or third for byron, i would keep him. NYI or TBL might take Shaw. Unfortunately i don't see tavares coming to mtl as much as i would love it , but Stasny might be a good fit at a better price leaving you room to make adjust if needed. I really like it hope the cap moves close to 82m and we spend to it

If by cheap enough, you're talking about his contract, I hate to break it to you, but EDM will be hard pressed to find a better value contract in the nhl. And in all reality Byron wont be going anywhere at that price. He literally costs about 25k/point. If you can list another 20G+ winger making less than 1.1M id love to hear it.
*if you were talking about what you would have to give up in order to get Byron, then please just ignore this post... hahaha

Buddy, in no offense, I get how you have this hard on for your man Byron, he’s valuable to the Canadiens, with a value contract, 20 goals.. good for MTL, I get that and agree. Regardless I don’t see him as a true fit in the lineup for the Oilers being small and left handed, at least not for the price.. there is some obvious risk, he didn’t play too well as a Flame, he should stay in the East. If he comes cheaper, then sure. Like I said I’d love to have the speed and scoring here in Edmonton, but once he scores 35-40 with McDavid or Draisaitl as his center, what is his contract gonna be then in 1 and 1/2 seasons from now.

Ekpaul is right. Include Hagelin or Hunwick in Shaw's trade, cause Pens can't afford his contract. Then we have a deal.
