all that being said those are the worst case scenario's , ofcourse a health O'reilly has value but its only a matter of time before BUF kills another promising prospect in their never
ending rebuild of doom where they half ass it constantly missing the top pick (see for yourself below )

they need to stop signing high value players like Oreilly just because they have the cap space and start focusing on developing youth as ARZ has missed about as many playoffs as BUF in the past millennium and they've got way more top 10 picks then BUF and WAY LESS 1st round busts


for MTL an O'reilly means avoiding a rebuild getting their 1st top line center since Koivu so even if he does go down like Horton
its still worth the risk given how impossibly its been for 3 GMs to land a Center (technically more as we drafter our last 2 top 6 centers and let them go over bullshit )

Yeah i see what you're talking about but we are in win now mode this only way i see us winning anything but i think 12.5m is more then enough he making same has mcdavid and i'm fine with that his worth ever penny.
And if doesn't come out to be looking like this then we are done for i dont see us winning win Weber and Price on the team. simply has that.

shaws skill set is why he`s worth slightly more then gally because he`s a winger who learned to be the best at Faceoffs
its why CHI literally hasnt been a Contender or even a threat since losing Shaw bringing in whatever former cup players they can trying to fix it
but without Shaw they are barely a playoff team these days

people under cut shaw to much not realizing he turned Danult a winger into a Center playing along side him in CHI and MTL until he was capable of 1000 + draws at over 50%
you are literally throwing away our only leader who makes Centers (not just guides former centers but turns wingers like Danault who ive watched since Junior and wast never a center .)

losing Shaw hurts us more directly then losing Eller (which when we lost Eller aka Chucky`s mentor you literally seen Chucky`s numbers go negative.)
