Not sure about that Leafs deal... no need to help them clear space, either.

I don't see why Montreal would trade a RHD prospect, who at worst is likely 2nd pair moving forward, and a likely top 10 pick for a worse version of Pacioretty.

Why are leafs fans not realizing they can't resign JVR, BOZAK, Marner, Matthews and Nylander. lets not forget they have 0 cap space currently

Burakovsky is a pretty good player. If the Caps aren't going to play him, someone should. McDonagh isn't worth quite that much more than him, but in a bidding war, i could see it getting there, and I think Trotz would lean on McDonagh, with his playoff and Olympic experience, as much as he'll bench Burakovsky for lacking both, so overpaying is almost reasonable to get a very good, kind of old player who will contribute for a very good, very young player who won't, yet.

But if you stick Burakovsky on your top line next season, for eighty two games, you've got a thirty goal scorer, and the Caps fire their GM for getting suckered, here.

Unless MacLellan makes a legit deadline acquisition or two he’s gone anyways

I don't see why a team would trade subban for weber

What does that have to do with the value of the players being exchanged? Weber for Subban was moving what they considered an issue in the locker room with a bad contract for an acceptable short term replacement with a contract that becomes easy to move to a budget team in a year or 2. Not fair value but useful enough. And if you want to talk bad trades how did Yzerman get as much as he did for St. Louis who would only waive for NYR? Rangers had TB over a barrel and still overpaid.

I seriously believe this trade benefits both sides fairly well

Hows Marty St. Louis, and Beauvillier(the guy drafted with the 1st)? Seriously though if you aren't posting these to hear opinion on value just say so in the description.
