We will take the better player and higher pick! But seriously, why would MTL do that?

The salary cap could be as high as $82 million this summer, No way Tavares is going to sign for $10.5 million try closer to around $12 million or $13 million there will be a major bidding war on him if he makes it to UFA status.

Tavares should see something similar to Stamkos (8.5-9.5) if he stays with NYI, going elsewhere he will get 10.5-11.5... do I think he will sign in Montreal? No. Is it a definite possibility? Yes. Galchenyuk is going to be sold low, he has bounced back a little but he is not going to bring a ton of return, I think Bergevin will take the first above average offer he gets for him, Galchenyuk fits as a nice 3C in Pittsburgh for a fresh start! As for JVR, Bergevin has been said to want a scoring winger back, that is JVR if you want a decently priced proven goal scorer, as well as the fact that you get a little younger. Patches is done in Montreal, and he's about to turn 30... he isn't gonna fetch an insane return either. Montreal doesn't exactly have the luxury or leverage to get anything huge in return, this is a team in disarray, as for the picks those were slightly random idk the picks that would necessarily accompany these trades.

I'm a Leaf fan and appreciate what Bozak and JVR have done for the Leafs. But no way would I sign Bozak for 4 years, and JVR for the term and $$$$ , I think both will be disappoint in value proposed. And yes, I think some team(s) will offer JVR what you propose.

I agree for the most part, but these days it is not necessarily how much a player is actually worth it is more what teams are willing to pay which as we all know on July 1st is crazy... Montreal is desperate for centers, and having a left shot left wing goal scorer in either JVR or Patches it is important to have a good right handed centerman like Bozak, 67 has been frustrated with Montreal's lack of guys that fit the description.

Seems like you're saying "I don't want those guys but we have to spend that 11m". That's what keeps teams in mediocrity, spending to the cap on on mediocrity or worse". Eichel gets 10m, Draisaitl 8.5m, Tavares should be offered at 10.5 by numerous teams. What is JT's motivation to sign in Montreal? I can't see it.
