They have the same stats but Sheary has played 44 less games than Jarnkrok. I get the center versus winger argument, the plays with Crosby argument, and then the pristine contract that Jarnkrok is on, but I still don't think I make this deal. Crosby and Sheary do work really well together and its not like everyone seems to work out with Sid. I would at least play out the Simon-Crosby-Sheary line right up until the deadline. If they flatline, maybe you make that deal.

i am a fan of sheary . i like what he brings and i do get not everyone works with crosby. this trade would be made out of necessity for a 3c. i think sooner pens can get guentzel into a normal winger role the better for the team. it would suck to trade any of these wingers but sheary looks to be the odd man out if they were dealing.

This is a decent deal. Nashville is looking for a scoring winger and Sheary can produce away from Crosby. Plus pens have Guenztel to reunite with crosby if a 3rd line center is acquired. Simon looks to be fitting nicely on Sid's wing as well. I don't really see the need to flip 5th rounders but thats just me being nit picky.
Both teams dealing form their depth to get what they need. But would nashville really want to help the Pens become a strong contender again?

i could see a Stanley cup rematch with these two teams. i am not sure the gas is in the tank for the pens to 3peat. but i hope so.

Jarnkrok's scoring equals Sheary's and Jarnkrok's sees less PP time. Really don't see the value for Preds, and what's the motive for Preds to aid the Pens,

Jarnkrok isn't much better than Sheary. I could see Sheary and and Nashville's 5th straight up for Jarnkrok.

The preds need a scoring winger and the pens need a 3rd line Center. It helps both teams. The pens get an equal player to Sheary that plays Center, while the preds get and equal player to Jarnkrok that plays wing plus a 2nd round pick. With Mike Fisher coming out of retirement and going to be signed by the preds, this probably helps them in the fact that they now have another asset (2018 2nd round pick) to maybe make a bigger splash. The pens lose that extra asset, so in reality this probably helps Nashville slightly more.
