I never understand these trades. If the Leafs are to shore up RHD, the Leafs acquire one and trade two. Way to much to trade for a questionable upgrade.

Your trade for Gudbrunson is a terrible trade for the Leafs as it actually weakens the team to pick him up. Carrick by himself is a way superior right handed defenceman to Gudbrunson and to give up a 2nd round pick in a deep draft with Mark Hunter making the picks is insane. His skating is way too slow for today's NHL and is really a 7th defenceman if one is being totally objective and the Canucks are going to have to give him away at the trade deadline to find a taker for his over-inflated salary demands.

Yeah I don't see the point of Gudbranson coming if Carrick goes back. Something like a Marlies LHD like Neilsen, Soshnikov, and Polak should get this done and maybe a late pick. He should be treated like an upgrade over Polak and that's it. Id also take an even lower pick to get rid of Martin.
