With that said, I'm a Habs fan and there is no chance in hell Pacioretty lands all that. Try finding another trade in NHL history where 3 first rounders either picks and/or prospects were traded for an established talent. Im 99% its never happened.

Just in case you research it yourself, the criteria is all three 1sts have to be within a 3 year span and at least one of them being a lottery pick.

Thats' where you are wrong. Players like Ladd for example was a pending UFA and landed a 1st rounder and a 1st rounder prospect in Dano. (Plus other stuff I think)

We could probably reduce the number of trade posts, if good players on a short term, where only traded to contenders. Some of these deals should no conception of team needs.

Don't forget that lindgren is in the deal. He would be a great add for florida.

The trade could be Tippett,Borgstrom and a second round pick(+maybe a third to) for pacioretty and Lindgren

I think adding two prospects who've shown they might be really good soon, is too much to ask. Teams would rather give up an unknown in the form of a pick than a young player they just drafted that is playing well.

So one of Tippett or Borgstrom and then some draft picks for Pacioretty makes sense and TL probably needs to retain some salary which wouldn't be problem anyway. Not both Borgstrom and Tippett. As for Lindgren, I'm not sure where MTL fans are getting this idea that lindgren is worth so much? He played well and could be a potential starter one day but he needs to play a lot more in the NHL to get that distinction. Guys like Talbot, Darling, Raanta, Jones, etc all had pretty impressive numbers as full time backups before being traded for what they got. Lindgren is still not there.

In all honesty Lindgren is worth probably a 2nd rounder AT BEST right now. Even that is probably high. Once he plays a couple seasons of 20+ game and puts up good numbers, then he'll command the same as those other guys.

I don't think that is a detractor. If they get a good deal, they'll move him. Lindgren himself would probably prefer it also if its to a team that doesn't have a CP type goalie playing ahead of him. This rule usually pplies to recently signed UFA's not so much to young RFA's.

Tippett is indeed a great prospect. And By the way to all those who undervalue Pacioretty, he has been one of the top 5 consistent and productive goal scorers of the past 5 years, has a cap friendly contract (not even 5 mil) AND still has a year left on it. that's massive value.
HOWEVER considering organisational needs, trading Pacioretty for anything else than a center would get you 1- fired and 2-lynched. Look at that center depth. Might be the worst in the league. holy moly is it bad. The should be sponsored by Tim Hortons because every line on that team is the donut line.
It's ok to trade patches, but if you don't get a good centerman, the offensive woes of the team will never stop and you'll be in the same position the next year with less attractive assets to shed in order to get the Center you need.

Henrik Borgstrom doesn't really interest me as a prospect that much especially if he's suppose to be the "key center prospect" MTL is targeting, seeing as he did absolutely nothing for team Finland at the World juniors.

Tippett could be a good replacement prospect for Pacioretty, so I'd want him.
as for a young center, without asking for the obvious (*cough* Barkov *cough*) i guess it would be Nick Bjugstad.
