Brassard is rumored to cost a 1st and 3rd round pick + a high end prospect. You replaced the high end prospect with a second and added retained salary. Not sure that this will get you Brassard.

Just going off what Pens and Sens fans are agreeing to on this website, today, which was a 1st and a 2nd with almost half salary retained.. I'm sure the Caps are all in on beating Pit this year, though. If the price were Backstrom, maybe they hesitate....
