Starts with Serg, we'll take a cap dump to make it work. Doesn't work otherwise.

I don't think Sergachev is a necessary piece to make a deal for McDonagh, but Tampa fans need to accept that they're probably not going to be especially happy with what they give up for a player of McD's caliber. Acquiring a bonafide #1 D-man will require at least a 1st and a bluechip prospect, if not Serg than Foote++. A fringe #6 D-man, a 25-year-old in his breakout season playing on the wing with two stars, and two late seconds is far still from a far reach for one of the best two-way defensemen in the league.

Toronto likes to over value their players like Soshnikov, Saying he will be a 1st rounder in return but only gets a 4th rounder. Dont be like Toronto fans Toronto Maple Leafs

NYR wants to get younger. think only players under 22 years of age.

You are correct, this would be a huge win for Tampa but no way Rangers accept this.

EVERY post someone basically says "Serg or no deal!" Did no one read Yzerman's comments this past weekend? It's not happening. YET, the Rangers and Bolts STILL scout each other EVERY game!!!!! So Gorton knows Serg won't be part of the deal and is STILL in talks with Tampa. People shooting down every trade that doesn't involve Serg need to be more open to reality.

Completely agree. As a Rangers fan, I would definitely accept a trade that doesn't include Serg or Point. Keeping McD does nothing for the future of the Rangers. He needs to be shipped out to the highest bidder before the trade deadline to maximize his return.

Don't think the rangers get serg.. they'd be more happy with a howden and foote (maybe a second rounder or conditional first) deal for mcd

Adding Sustr is addition by subtraction for the Bolts and provides no value to the Rangers since he's a UFA and will definitely not be re-signed. If he's added it provides extra cap space for Tampa, so you'd really have to count him leaving as value on their end, on top of McDonagh. I imagine the Rangers also only pull the trigger on a deal involving a high-end defensive prospect.
