We stink (1/2)

Created by: Rangerfan01

Initial Creation Date: Feb. 19, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think most of this is realistic. Except maybe Mac and Miller trades. But value for those seems correct.
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. 2018 1st round pick (BOS)
2.
NYR
  1. Åberg, Pontus
  2. 2018 1st round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Dante Fabbro
3.
NYR
  1. 2018 5th round pick (TOR)
4.
NYR
  1. Brännström, Erik
  2. 2018 1st round pick (VGK)
VGK
  1. Miller, J.T.
Additional Details:
If they're selling. I don't think this one is happening, but Miller would help if Knights end up dealing Neal or Perron. Yes his numbers are down this year, but that's because he's stuck at center. On wing he is much more valuable and could fill a top six role in a playoff run. He is an RFA and would probably be 5-6 million against cap. Had 56 points playing next to kevin hayes last year. Would be nice fit next to Karlsson or Haula. Not sure if VGK are willing to let Brannstrom go, however.
5.
NYR
  1. Gurianov, Denis
  2. 2018 1st round pick (DAL)
DAL
  1. Nash, Rick ($3,900,000 retained)
6.
NYR
  1. Burakovsky, André
  2. Djoos, Christian
  3. 2018 1st round pick (WSH)
  4. 2018 2nd round pick (FLA)
WSH
  1. McDonagh, Ryan
Additional Details:
I'd really hope that rangers could find better deal at draft and keep Mac out of division, if not conference. But if Caps aren't on his no trade list and they're willing to offer this up, I think this isn't terrible. I think Burakovsky would be a good fit with the Rangers and would be a nice fit on second line next to chytil/andersson/hayes (whoever plays there next season). Would see a lot of ice time for the rest of the season too. As for Djoos, he has been a surprise and could end up being a good second pair player as he is given more minutes. Picks are self explanatory.

I could be completely wrong about all of this, too.

This is pretty fair value across the board. Nothing wrong here.

Kempny just got a 3rd. Holden will probably get at least that.

Zuccerllo is not worth Dante Fabro mate. You had a really good values across the board except for the Zuc one. Butchered that

Value is fine. Detmott has helped solidfy LD. Think they are more focused on RD. Depends if they want to add depth or not and what otheroptions are.

In fact, Nash might be worth that haul. We'll see. But Zuc > Nash. Far from a butcher.

You are so off. Nash isnt the game breaking player he once was. Zucc has been awful this season. NSH already said theyll call up Tolvanen, who is a better player then both Nash and Zuc so why would they pay a premium for them?

Nash is worth a 1st and Aberg. Meanwhile Zucc is worth a 2nd and Aberg. Thats it. NSH wont give up its blue chip prospects for a rental, be real

Really? Nash is not valued more than zucc. Zucc is quietly putting up points. He's still going to break 50 easily. No guarantee that Tolvanen is going to be unbelieveable when he gets here. It's a risk at moment, but he has a very bright future.

This actually explains a lot of the responses I've seen on here. The belief that Eeli (Same points in the KHL as can't make NHL Nicklas Jensen) Tolvanen is BETTER RIGHT NOW than Nash and Zuc. Rick (top 20 in expected goals in each of the last 3 years) Nash. And that Mats (Same points/60 as Tyler Seguin this year) Zuccarello has been awful.

With how you're evaluating prospects. No wonder you don't think any blue chips are getting traded. After all they're BETTER THAN 40+ point scorers RIGHT NOW.

This is very revealing. After all, by that logic this probably means you think Liljegren is better than McDonagh RIGHT NOW. ooooof.

Buddy, are you listening to what youre saying? You dont know what contracts are right? Nash is expiring this year, while Zucc is expiring next year. Why in the hell would NSH risk a blue chip prospect for 1 year of cup run? They've built a dynasty by not doing what youre thinking. Tolvanen could easily be as good as Nash this year. He's not what he once was. Zucc is expiring nxt year and he hasn't been what he was either. 30 year old that who knows what hell do next year. Nah, its illogical to trade blue chips for rentals.

As for that crap comparison Liljegren to McDonagh, Yes actually, Liljegren is an upgrade to McDonagh. He is the leafs best prospect, a RHD which the leafs desperately need. McD contract expires next year, and the leafs have literally built a dynasty with their draft picks. Why would they go and trade that? You're pulling off a mentality that got Burke fired in TOR

Tolvanen can easily be better then Nash and at a better contract then him. I think teams value nash more then Zuc so I think the return might be higher. But really, they arent the players they once were. You wont be getting blue chips for them

Definitely agree about Tolvanen being better than Nash. I think Nash fetches first and mid prospect. As for zucc, I disagree. Yes he scores less goals. But that’s never been his strength which is passing. Maybe he doesnt get what I listed as a return, but I think he could bring back a blue chip and a pick. Not a first necessarily but like a 2nd or 3rd. Remember his cap hit and that there’s two playoff runs with him.
Or maybe I’m completely wrong. Guess we find out in next week.
Back to Tolvanen though, I’m really excited for him to come to the nhl. He’s gonna be unreal once he adjusts to smaller rink and different play style.

The 2 trades here that need changing are Zucc and McD. Have to take Fabbro out of that Zucc trade.

McD, you could get more for. You need an A prospect, a 1st, + another piece or 2. That return from Washington is really blah
