So Ottawa gets completely fleeced and then Montreal flip's there players for prospects and picks? Doesn't make sense for Ottawa not to just make these deals like what do they need Montreal for? Drouin and Weber? No, thanks

Ok I see your angle. From what I understand TB isn't willing to give up any roster player for Karlsson. I've also accepted and frankly I'm all for it, that MTL needs to go through a rebuilt and bite the bullet for a couple of years.

These are solid prospects coming back, I honestly believe that Yezerman would have a hard time giving them all up.

Do you think Yzerman would budge and give up a significant roster player for EK?

Ottawa supposedly wants Namestnikov, but Yzerman said no dice. Ottawa is trading EK cause they can't afford him anymore. They're a budget team. They've announced that who ever is willing to take a package of Karlsson/Ryan, the asking price will drop dramatically.

I'm doing their broke ass a big favor by taking BOTH Ryan and Gaborik off their hands. They're saving north of 60 mill if they do this deal.

I see your point...but gonna have a 3 way with Ott and TBL..but if you taking contracts on Gaborik and Ryan, you might as well take as many bad contracts as you can and go all in to be cellar dwellers the next 3 years so you ain't signing Stastny...and if Yzerman doesn't want to playball you need another partner. Would be kinda cool to have a team finish last 3 years in a row while at the cap limit!!

Just read a piece saying that Vegas are the front runners and are willing to take Ryan also. Apparently they have more than enough capspace to pull it off. This is Huge!

Ottawa would be paying relatively the same amount for Drioun/Weber that they are Ryan/Gaborik so it isn't really that much of a favor plus Weber is signed forever. If Tampa isn't willing to pay for him then they're just not going to get him. Haha Just because Yzerman wants him doesn't mean Ottawa has to accept a bad deal.

They're saving 60 mill if they trade all 3 Karlsson/Ryan/Gaborik not just the latter 2. Either way who would you rather have for the same price tag? Ryan/Gaborik or Drouin/Weber? Also just cause Weber is signed for 8 yrs, doesnt mean anything. His actual salary is 1 mill/yr for the last 3 years. High probability he retires. He'll still get paid the 3 mill from NSH without having to play a single game.

In essence it's true, no one has to accept anything. IMO TB doesn't REALLY need EK. And OTT is in no pressure to deal him immidiately.

Doubt that you could fetch a 2nd round pick for Paul Byron. His shooting percentage is around 4-6 percent when adjusted for non-high danger scoring chances per Micah (couple of months ago).

1 bad contract I'd love to get my hands on is Andy McDonald. I'd give Phily Petry and the main pieces I'd want in return are Frost or Sanheim...or both!

But ya I could just forget about Stastny. The prospects I get in return from TB drastically improve MY prospect pipeline, so in that moment I feel like with Stastny the team is actually not that bad...even with Weber Drouin Pacioretty gone. Perhaps I should also trade Price just to guarantee the cellar dwelling.

As for Yzerman, it sounds that as long as we leave his NHL roster alone, he'd be willing to play ball.
