Description
Simply just for fun, but clearly something needs to change.
None of this will actually happen, but it would plug some holes and adds speed and scoring throughout the lineup.

Caps can do better than a bottom 6 player and at best a backup goalie for Grubauer.

Don't be too sure of that. This wasn't a stellar year by TJ, so he'll have to rebuild his value. But if we could get this now I see it as a win going forward.
Plus it allows for the depth to finally get a full time shot.

They probably could. But in case you missed it, I clearly stated that none of this is likely to happen. It's just thoughts being tossed out.
As long as Holtby remains in WSH, Grub will forever be a backup.
Coming here he can truly share the workload with Smith which would be good for both of them, and after next year take over as the #1 guy in net.

Totally agree. Think Grubauer would be a great fit with CGY, just think CGY would have to give up more. Tough since they don't have a 1st or 2nd this draft.

I do agree regarding giving up more. I guess my personal feeling is I just want to see Ferland moved out while we can.
And don't remind me of the draft pick Hell we're in...the holes in my wall are reminder enough LOL

The only thing I really think needs to change is Gulutzan personally.

That bottom 6 player would be second on the Caps in goals this year...not necessarily saying it's an even deal, but it's closer than you're making it out to be.

Shooting 5% above his career shooting%. Also only has 39 points. Not saying Ferland is bad, but on a competing team he is no higher than a 3rd liner that can get you 30-40 points a season. Caps can get their hands on plenty of players that can do that.
