I just don't see the point of the Jenner trade. If the argument is that he's better than AA...why would he take less money? AA's deal for $4.5M isn't terrible. If the argument is he's worse than AA, hence the Salary retention on AA's contract for the trade...well now you have a worse center all to say a whopping $150k. I'd much rather keep AA than trade him for Jenner.

Well, to have a shot at Dahlin the Hawks would have to have a top 5 pick, because a team can only move up 5 spots so... If the Hawks can tank hard they still have a chance but every OT loss just kills our chances. But say we did get lucky - Dahlin would fill one hole, but the Hawks would still need a guy like Moore and I would advocate signing another vet for good measure.

Hawks still would need to add a few veteran forwards as well.. A guy like Vermette or Dominic Moore, guys that can play a defensive role, kill penalties and win draws.. The Hawks need to be better at the dot next season, and that is one of the reasons why I would like to see Anisimov traded or moved to wing - despite how skilled he is he couldn't win a draw if his life depended on it and Moore and Vermette are both faceoff specialists. Moore is 56% at the dot in his career so that's impressive and exactly what the Hawks need.

Also, Bowman needs to do something about #2 left wing.... Sikura may be the guy, but I would go out and sign a guy like Kovalchuk to a 1 year deal because I think Kovalchuk would be just as good as Panarin playing on that LW next to Schmaltz & Kane....

Either way Duclair so far has done little to prove why he belongs on this team next fall.... The kid shows he has skill and speed but that skill and speed translates into nothing because he doesn't finish..... The kid reminds me of Kris Versteeg but at least Versteeg finished some of the time...

Im guessing even if we package both 1st round picks in the 2018 draft throw them a 1st round pick in the 2019 draft and our best prospect we still won't be able to get that 1st round pick in this years draft , thats just how good Rasmus Dahlin is . Enough Said .

Flyers moved from 12 or 14 to 2 last year.

That's why they changed the rule . A team can only move up a maximum of 5 spots....For example: if you're drafting 8th overall and you win the lottery the highest you can draft is #3.

Oh, I didn't realize that rule changed. That's stupid. Everyone who misses the playoffs should have a chance...hence why it's called a lottery Bettman! You dumb f**k!!!!!

I think the point would be that AA is 29 while Jenner is 24.

That's how it used to be a few years ago, then they changed it so that any non-playoff team can win the lottery and move up to any of the top 3 spots. When NJ won the lottery in 2011, they moved from #8 to #4, but last year Philly moved from #13 to #2.

As of today, any non-playoff team can move to any of the top 3 spots.

They need to come up with a formula that can stick for at least a couple of years, lol..

Good to know, maybe the Hawks can get Dalhin, lol..

As a Hawks fan I haven't followed the draft (or anyone outside of the top 10) in quite a few years because the Hawks were always assured a pick at the end of the first round every year - if they had a pick at all. But due to the Hawks being terrible I have followed this draft a lot closer than I usually do..lol..
