Do you think Gallagher is worth that much? If yes, Montreal will make the trade any day. This is coming from a Habs fan.

I debated adding the first round pick. Probably would have to be a second rounder for me to do it, but wanted to make sure the trade would go through

I'm not a huge fan of paying that much for Gallagher, but I whole-heartedly agree with your general concept of:
out: Berglund, Sobotka
in: Hoffman, top 4 LHD, top 6 center (I still think Stastny for 2 yrs would be a nice consolation prize if JT doesn't work out)

Since Bouw just had surgery, he probably won't be in playing condition during the summer buyout period and we won't have the chance to buy him out. I'm not sure what will happen with him, but maybe he'll be on LTIR or if he tries to rough it and play again, he could end up being waived. I feel for the guy, he's had a great career but after this surgery he might not be relevant anymore, considering he was already falling apart.

Overpayment for Gallagher as much as I like him.
Bouwmeester isn't available to buy out. He's not cleared to skate for another 3 1/2 months which will take us into July. We could waive him like you said, or maybe he waives his NTC to be traded.

Maybe if the prices were switched for Hoffman and Gallagher. That's an underpayment for Hoff and an overpayment for Gally.

Throw Bouwmeester into a trade where he’ll waive the clause and that’ll relieve big cap issues here. Maybe trade him somewhere with one of the pieces of the Gallagher deal (because everyone’s saying it’s an overpayment).

lol at the ranger trade.. why would we trade a conditional first round pick for spare parts.. even if it was just a 2nd rounder i wouldn't do that for that garbage. an ahl player and a cap dump for a second.. funny

I love adding Gallagher to this team. I've done a bunch of mocks with him being traded for and usually the accepted price is Thompson, Blais, and a 2nd. Thompson as a good C/RW prospect for the future, Blais, a French-Canadian who's scoring a PPG in AHL and had 26 goals as a rookie in the league last year, and a good pick. I'd think adding Sobotka or Berglund would be necessary to even out the cap. Both are good 3Cs with term who can be a bridge for MTL's rebuild.

I'm not a huge proponent of Hoffman, I'd rather have Fabbri/Kyrou on ELCs or close to it.

De Haan is a good move I think. Maybe Moore or Ian Cole, someone who won't be that expensive but can play Top 4 minutes.

I like it, but why trade Gunnarson? The guy has been stable and hasn’t made many mistakes all year. He might be a little overpaid, but as a 6th or 7th d you can’t really beat him.
