Description
COL D is looking pretty solid for the next few years. They only dip into the UFA pool for CDH to pair up with Timmons. I think Nemeth would be fine for this but this would add some great depth. Where the lack of has hurt us the last two years.

WSH gets capspace to sign Carlson. Wilson just doesn't fit with COL, but was a solid middle 6 forward for NSH last year. And, a 2nd Rd pick. Orpik provides depth in case injury bug hits and mentoring for young guys in AHL. Avs can afford to eat the cap hit. Grubauer gets chance to fight it out with Bernier for No. 1.

BUF gets a true No.1 with short contract, incase it doesn't work out. With Middle-stud coming in, this gives Reinhart new start.

MTL gets a projected 2/3 C and 2 2nds for a guy that has lost favor in Mtl. Patches could use a new start also and Avs need a good LW. With only one year left on contract, it is minimum risk if he has a bad year - trade at deadline or let go at end of year. But, if goes back to old form resign.

EDM gets another defensive minded forward at a fraction of the cost on ELC, 2 1sts, and solid prospect. Avs get a 2C for a few years while Jost develops.

No way to the BUF trade. No one cares about goaltending.

I don't see any of those happening or being smart moves for a rebuilding team and like it or not the Avs ARE still rebuilding.

I don't see most of those happening ether. And, yes they are rebuilding. But , the Avs can spend their picks this year trying to draft someone that might or might not be good in a few years. ( ie: Wilson 7th over all- not great, Yak 1st overall... ect.) Or, they can spend those picks on players that can promote a winning environment for our current rookies to grow in. As much as everyone wants to call the Soda line our second, that is a 3rd on any other playoff team. and Jost with the rookie line isn't there yet. We did well enough this year that the quality of player that will be available has decreased (15-20 overall cause if they make it in they are probably not making it out of the 1st rd) and next year (hopefully) our pick will be worse. They still have OTTs pick. Smart moves... IDK... at least I'm not trying to get EK or JT, and truly jack up what the Avs are doing.

Well, MacK and goaltending is why the Avs are fighting for a slot in the dance next week. Sitting in last... BUF may want to look at investing something into their net. Just a thought...

Varlamov hasn’t been all that great, just decent

    Also,
We have Ullmark who is coming up for us next season
Plus, another promising goalie we drafted last year

There’s no way we’d trade assets for Varlamov
The Sabres would just sign a free agent like Raanta,
or maybe even try to steal Bernier from ya

And you’re trying to get the guy we picked #2 overall a couple years ago...
    that’s just batsh!t crazy if u think that’s happening

Only way to pry Reinhart from us would be for a good young defenseman

Orpik for Wilson is a fine way to save 1.5M by getting a worse player. As a Caps fan I'd love to get a couple of good, AHL non-veteran players thrown in, to help get Hershey back to the playoffs. You know how it is.

Grubauer? I think you misspelled "Martin Erat."
