I get the ror trade. They are short a front line center depending on hischier development. I don't love the player and he gets a big paycheck. Maybe a change Jumpstart his production a bit more. I'd rather see them add evander Kane who I think would fit in great with this team.

How would that be fleecing the Oilers? Klefbom and Severson are very similar in skill set, but shoot differently.

Klefbom had an off year but he was an absolute stud last season.

Imntalking as whole. Good year, off year doesn't matter. They're very much the same player. So getting a right handed version of Klefbom is not a bad deal for Edmonton.

Yeah I like the snarl, not the player (Kane). JVR is 2yrs older and not sure about Kane in the locker room (Buff).
Nico is only player on the team to play full sked. Is a great two way player and soooo much better than Nolan (I was wrong on this btw). He's not Matthews/McDavid, who is.

Yeah he looks pretty good and its hard to tell how they might develope. I remember when tavares came out and how much he got criticized as a first overall pick.

Klefboms peak is much higher than seversons. Klefbom proved last year he can be a #1D. Severson has never done that. Don’t get me wrong I like severson but I definitely don’t think he’s as good as klefbom

3 Things:
1) Klefbom is a better Dman than Severson. Klefbom's down year was still on pace or better than Severson's year. Klefbom is EDM's best LHD, and Severson would certainly not be their best RHD so it makes no sense for EDM

2) ROR is a huge risk which could really weigh the team down if it goes poorly. His contract will not expire before they have to re-sign Hall, Hischier, Palms and Vatanen, so if ROR's play tails off even a little it could absolutely kill the Devils' future plans. That said, I am a big ROR fan and I think he is definitely worth it if they can convince Buffalo to retain $1-1.5 Million. In order to do that, we need to offer them defense which might kill the deal from the Devils' side

3) Neither Wood nor Bratt have shown the ability to produce consistently, so it's tough putting both of them on the 2nd line. I think that Maroon should definitely be re-signed as he has brought an element that the Devils have sorely missed
