Philly can probably make that work without giving up Couturier, who after this season I imagine is immovable by most fans' standards.

Completely guessing here, but instead of Couturier, consider the STL 2018 1st + Laberge + PHI 2019 1st? Like if you're moving Price, you're pretty much committed to a rebuild. Find a way to move Pacioretty and Galchenyuk and you've pretty much got it done in one offseason.

Price isn’t worth anything close to that. 31 yeas old next season.......maybe if habs retain 50% of that dumb contract they gave him. They could probably get holtby for way less and he’s way better.

Also cout is untouchable.......

Price and Weber are the worst contracts in hockey and habs have them both

Maybe we can retain 1 or 1.5 or even 2 m but nothing more . If u don't want him ok , stick with your horrible goaltending .

Price would be a hell of a mentor for Hart. If you're getting him retained, he's probably worth an equivalent package to what the OP provided (granted, not Couturier). That's 4 or 5 good years of Price, which is more than enough time to push Hart into the starting role. The only downside is how expensive he is beyond those years. Given what Philly has right now, I think it'd actually be a really good move for them.

Speaking of worst contracts in the league, the Oilers would like to raise you one Milan Lucic with less than 10 points in his final 44 games this season at $6M per on a buyout-proof contract.

I’m a caps fan we have nothing but goalie depth. But price imo doesn’t get you cout let alone everything else you threw in. Also Philly has a stud goalie coming up the ranks

My firt idea was Hart + Neuvith but couldnt find him so i settle for Stolack (lol) . It's never enough for the other fanbase who value your players like donuts . Yet they haven't have a goaltender since Pelle Lindberg , go figure .

There’s no goalie I would pay 8-10 million for. None. That’s crazy now if you are in win now and price is 10 mill for the next 3 years that’s cool but any other scenario is crazy. Like I said flyers could get holtby for half that or grub for a first and they would have positive results

its ok if you dont want him im happy keeping him even tho i would prefer to tank with a backup style of goalie . We can keep him , goaltending is the name of the game .

Habs would be smart to keep him. Imo they can do a fast rebuild by trading patches and a few others for picks. They aren’t a bad team just need a #1 center that’s all

i think you have clearly express your opinion as a NO . Thank you for your contribution . GL to your team ! Go take Holtby but Babcock have kept him on the bench in Price favor at the last olympic . I guess he disagree with you ... Also don't think Washington feel nice with only Grubauer as the most important player on the team ...

I would trade for Jeff carter or ror. Then sign Stastny. And they are set. The d might need work but price helps a terrible d look good

Caps have samsonov coming the the states next year. So they have 3 goalies that are great. And basing who’s better based off Babcock isn’t the smartest. They won’t selesct pk to the team and he’s extremely good. So there’s that

We gonna make a 15m pitch to Tavares if he walk , we gonna pitch to Stastny , Bozak or offersheet Backstrom , Marner , Whoever ... We have a juicy pick and a handfull of 2nd rounder etc ..
We dont need this trade as much as you do in my opinion . But of course you can disagree and i like it .I value Price a lot .

Btw i would even swap Stolack for Hart in my original idea . To tell you ..

Not enough but thank for the offer . I think if we explore a trade of Price , first of all he choose where he go and the price should be a lot . I would guess St-Louis would be interested to named one ..But i understand after a bad year and the big contract kicking in some people are afraid its normal .

Backstrom is signed for anoth 2 years in Washington how are you offersheeting him?

#1 centers are way harder to find than starting goalies.

But agree to disagree

Holtby haven't play for a poor team in Nhl unless im wrong about that , Price did . Price have made perenial horribad Mtl team into skipping in front of Philadelphie in the last decade . We can keep him until we retool by the draft because no player wanna play were the fan are crazy and the taxes are the worst and the whether not to tell .

Philadelphia wouldn't trade Sean Couturier for Carey Price, let alone having to add.

Hart/Vezina/Lester Pearson/Jennings trophy though.......... rolling eyes

EDIT: I forgot to paraphrase this by saying this isn't saying I approve of the trade. Just my disagreement with your comment.
