That doesn’t matter, sure he had one 50 Point season, but he’s 27 years old and it’s unlikely that he’s able to do that again. Plus Hamilton is much better defensively with the same amount of offence, and is on a much better contract. This is nowhere near an overpayment man, it’s a major underpayment especially considering you’re not really solving any of Calgary’s needs such as offence. Any trade for Dougie starts with Nylander +.

It's funny Toronto fans want Gardiner gone, now, because he is not very good, but when they trade him they want a king's ransom, Please make up your minds, either he is a decent d-man being misused in the TML system or he is terrible. No he is not going to get you Hamilton along with a very high draft pick. Teams see that the Leafs need a D-man and are going to wait until they get what they want and then trade with them. Toronto does not hold the upper hand in any dealings for Defensemen.
