You realize we have to sign the following guys after next year right?

JFK
McAvoy
Donato
Cehlarik
Carlo

Oh and we still need to either re-sign or find Chara's/Krug's replacement with $8 million in space.

OH OH OH, don't forget the following off-season when you need to sign Bjrok, DeBrusk, Zboril, Lauzon...I'm sure I'm missing more.

The only way to get a guy like JT to fit is if you trade away Krejci....and with a full NMC, I don't see it happening.

Neat thing is, they don't have a Full NMC after next year, when they need the money.

Move Krejci 7.25m
Move Backes 6m
Retire Chara 5m

downside is you would end up losing JFK/Lauzon/Frederic/bjork/senyshyn/cehlarik (two good prospects, you pick!) in those deals so a team would take on the salary. Upside you'd have Tavares - who none of those guys will turn into. Good news is you might still get to keep Donato, Debrusk, Zboril, vaakanainen & Studnicka.

Krug and Heinen? Probably not, but only because they really need a LD. McAvoy and Carlo on the Right side looks good for the next decade.

If they then moved Carlo for a comparable LD, Yes 100%.

Rate one star just because Tavares will get $11M and not $9M? I agree with you but I wouldn’t classify this as a one star idea. Does need a little work but I’ve definitely seen worse.

Yeah - it is supposed to be a bit far-fetched, hence the "dream" title. Too much would need to happen for Tavares to end up in Boston.

Although I don't think 9m to the right team is out of the realm of possibility, or he would have already signed with the Isles. Agreed it's unlikely, but it's proving very difficult to pay a player 10m+ and be successful. Chicago is really the only team that has been able to do it, and that's because they have Keith Signed to an unbelievable deal.
