Additional Details:
We dump Marleau's contract so it's not a problem come 2020, we add Brouwer to make the salaries work and either he plays on the 4th line or we bury his salary in the minors/flip him at the deadline. We add Tkachuk to get some damn grit on our roster. 1st round pick is tossed in there because I feel Calgary needs something to entice them to take on Marleau's contract even though he's a good player for them for the next two years, they're giving up quite a bit in Tkachuk and Hamilton, so Nylander and a 1st plus Marleau for 2 years, feel like they may go for that, it'll be a late round pick anyway. Might need to add a little more.

Still not there value wise. Nylander for Hamilton value can be argued as being fair, though young RHD are hard to come by and I think that cost would be Nylander and the 1st for Hamilton personally. Then you'd have Marleau for Tkachuk and Brouwer which I don't think CGY does despite the need for someone like Nylander. If they don't have to give up Tkachuk value might be closer

That trade won’t happen. Nylander and a 1st (probably 22nd-25th) and Marleau won’t get you Hamilton and Tkachuk even if we eat Brouwers deal. Marleau is still a good player but his big ticket and age hinders his value. It’s not even close to be honest.
Flames fans are going to be furious hehe.
Nylander and a 1st is really only a starting point for Hamilton alone

So just to explain things... Nylander signed to a bridge deal and then he's packaged into the deal with Calgary. Johnsson also signed to a cheap bridge deal similar to Hyman and Brown. I didn't bother with signing a bunch of other pending UFA's and RFA's but I brought back Holl and Smith just for depth on the 23 man roster. There might be better options. Signed Beal to be the 4th line Center for the next 2 years, he's solid. Obviously the big signing is Tavares. Brouwer if he were to get shipped out at the deadline... Leivo could slot in there. Adding Tkachuk and also Tavares creates a long term issue with money I'm sure... Things would probably have to change, but this would be an amazing cup contending team atleast for next season and then probably some moves would have to be made depending on what kind of deal's Marner and Kapanen and Tkachuk are looking at, if you can get them to reasonable bridge deals for a few years and Gardiner and Hainsey will be UFA... might be possible to keep everybody for atleast a few seasons and then you run into complications down the line.

Yeah looking over the deal I knew I'd probably have to add more in there for Tkachuk and Hamilton, maybe another pick/a defence prospect. I don't know if I'd go as far as Liljegren but something close to that.

Don't touch my Tkachuk. In reality I would say this value is off, TotheNorth's comment is a good point on the value, I think that Chuky is more untouchable than anyone on our team and Dougie would be a close second to put them together in a trade we better be getting Matthews back, which is completely unrealistic. Marleau at that price is no good for us, our LW is full of very capable players.

I'm not a fan of the Martin trade, and the CGY trade is interesting but it won't ever happen.

I'm willing to put money down that Marleau finishes his contract with the leafs and won't be traded before then.

I'd also wager a large sum of money that there's no way the islanders take Martin back even tho you're compensating them to do so.

Marleau has a Full no Move clause. He won’t and can’t be moved without him approving a trade (which he won’t)

Agreed - There is no way Tkachuk gets traded - and if he were with Dougie Hamilton the return would need to be both Nylander and Marner. No way we take Marleau with his age and contract
